Planning your removal
What to know before your pickup
Household contents and bulky basement items
We review furniture, mattresses, shelving contents, boxes and other accepted household junk stored in basements. Send an overview of every area to be cleared, including items behind furniture or beneath stairs. Mention appliances, heavy equipment and any unusually dense material so the plan reflects the whole load.
The staircase matters as much as the room
Describe the number of steps, whether stairs are straight or turn, doorway clearance and low ceilings. Tell us about exterior basement doors or another usable route. Photos of stairs, landings and exits help us assess safe removal. Do not assume a large item can be carried out intact simply because it is already downstairs.
Sort belongings before confirming the scope
Identify documents, valuables, keepsakes and anything another family member wants to retain. Mark the items being removed and keep retained belongings separate when practical. If the basement belongs to an estate or rental property, make sure the person authorizing the cleanout can release the contents.
Water damage and contamination need review
Disclose wet items, standing water, visible mold, pest issues or suspected hazardous material before booking. Ordinary junk hauling does not include mold remediation, pest treatment, sewage cleanup or hazardous-material handling. We assess whether the requested removal can be accepted safely based on the conditions you describe.
What affects a basement cleanout quote
Volume and weight matter, but basement labor and access also change the job. A long carrying route, several stair turns or very heavy pieces may require additional preparation. Send room photos and access photos together. We review the expected range and confirm final pricing and accepted scope before removal begins.
Plan any cleaning after the contents are removed
Loading, hauling and sweep-up are included in the agreed removal scope. Detailed cleaning is separate. If you want the cleared basement cleaned afterward, tell us when requesting the quote so we can discuss the appropriate follow-up service.
Frequently asked questions
Your pickup questions, answered
Can you clear only part of a basement?
Yes. Identify the areas and items being removed, and clearly separate anything that stays.
Do you remove basement appliances?
We review appliances as part of the job. Tell us their type, condition, disconnection status and the access route.
Can you remove wet or moldy contents?
Disclose the condition before scheduling. Acceptance requires assessment, and ordinary hauling does not include mold remediation or hazardous cleanup.
Do stairs affect pricing?
Stairs, carrying distance, item weight and access affect the labor required and are considered when quoting the cleanout.
How do I prepare for a basement cleanout?
Separate items to keep, photograph every removal area and show the stairs and exit route. Disclose wet contents, pests or contamination before booking; do not move unsafe loads yourself.
Make a clear pickup plan
Separate basement volume from carrying work
The amount of material and the route upstairs are different parts of the quote. Show each removal area and the complete exit route, including landings and outside doors. Identify what stays before the appointment so retained belongings do not become part of the load.
Minimum pickup $250 · Quarter truck $300 · Half truck $450 · Three-quarter truck $650 · Full truck $850. These are the confirmed load tiers; accepted materials, weight and access are reviewed with the complete job before final scope and pricing are confirmed.
