How Much Junk Fits in Our 13-Cubic-Yard Truck?

See how our 13-cubic-yard usable truck volume relates to quarter, half, three-quarter and full-load pricing.

Our truck holds 13 cubic yards

Crystal Breeze Junk Removal’s usable truck capacity is 13 cubic yards. A cubic yard is a measure of volume: a space 3 feet long, 3 feet wide and 3 feet high. Thirteen cubic yards equals 351 cubic feet of space. That is a volume calculation, not the truck’s length, width or height.

Our quarter, half, three-quarter and full-load tiers refer to a fraction of that usable capacity. The bars below illustrate the fractions; they are not a drawing of the vehicle or a guarantee that a specific item list will fit.

Quarter truck: $300

Approximate volume: 3.25 cubic yards. This represents 25% of the truck’s usable space.

Half truck: $450

Approximate volume: 6.5 cubic yards. This represents 50% of the truck’s usable space.

Three-quarter truck: $650

Approximate volume: 9.75 cubic yards. This represents 75% of the truck’s usable space.

Full truck: $850

Approximate volume: 13 cubic yards. This represents 100% of the truck’s usable space.

Minimum pickup: $250. A smaller job is still subject to the minimum. A quarter-truck load is $300; the minimum and quarter-truck tier are different.

Why a couch does not equal a fixed fraction

Furniture dimensions, shapes and the way pieces can be safely loaded affect the space used. A sleeper sofa, ordinary sofa and sectional are different loads. Boxes may fit around furniture, while awkward pieces can leave gaps. We assess the full item list and loading requirements rather than promising a set number of couches or mattresses per tier.

For a sectional, include every section. For a bed, identify the mattress, box spring or foundation, frame and any additional base. For a garage cleanout, show piles behind the first row of visible items. The quote needs to reflect everything being removed.

Volume is different from weight and access

A full truck of bulky household furniture is not the same handling job as dense renovation material. Heavy or unusual materials require acceptance and loading review. Do not use the 13-cubic-yard figure to assume we can carry that volume of concrete, soil or another dense material.

Stairs, narrow landings, long carrying distances and an item that needs special preparation can also affect the job. Send photos of the route out as well as the contents. Final accepted scope and pricing are confirmed before removal begins.

How to show the size of your load

  1. Take a wide photo of each room or storage area being cleared.
  2. Show each large piece from enough angles to identify its size.
  3. Count boxes, bags, mattresses and appliances where practical.
  4. Describe hidden contents and heavy items.
  5. Include your ZIP code, floor, stairs, elevator and parking information.

Photos support a preliminary estimate. They do not reveal every detail, so the crew reviews the agreed load before starting. If you add items after the estimate, tell us so the scope can be updated.
