Planning your removal
What to know before your pickup
Couches, sectionals and sleeper sofas
Tell us whether the piece is a standard sofa, loveseat, reclining couch, sectional or sleeper sofa. Sleeper mechanisms and powered recliners can add substantial weight. For sectionals, show every section and tell us whether the pieces separate. Include ottomans or other items you want collected in the same quote.
Show us the route out
A couch can be easy to reach and difficult to remove. Photos of the room, doorway, hall and stair turns help us assess the route. Tell us if the couch originally arrived in separate sections or if a door had to be removed. Any unusual disassembly or difficult access needs to be reviewed before the appointment.
Indoor pickup or curbside pickup
We can discuss removal from an accessible room or from an agreed outdoor pickup location. Do not put furniture outside simply to request an estimate. If you choose an outdoor location, confirm pickup timing and access with us first. For apartments, check elevator reservations, building access hours and any management requirements.
What affects a couch removal quote
Size, weight, number of sections and access all affect the job. An upstairs sleeper sofa may involve different labor from a standard sofa beside the entrance. Send your ZIP code, photos of the whole couch and an accurate description of stairs. We confirm pricing and scope before removal begins.
Plan around a new furniture delivery
Tell us the delivery date and the time the room needs to be clear. Scheduling depends on the current route and the access needed for your job. Contact us early; an inquiry does not reserve a slot. If other furniture also needs to go, include it at the start so we can assess the entire pickup together.
Frequently asked questions
Your pickup questions, answered
Can you take a large sectional?
We review sectionals from photos. Include all sections and describe whether they separate, where they are located and the route out.
Do you take sleeper sofas?
Yes, subject to safe access and job assessment. Mention the sleeper mechanism because it changes the weight and handling.
Must I carry the couch outside?
No, not when indoor access is safe and included in the agreed scope. Describe the location and stairs when requesting the quote.
Can you collect the couch today?
Ask about the next available opening. Timing depends on route capacity, job details and access; same-day pickup is not guaranteed.
What changes the price of couch removal?
A sectional, sleeper sofa, stairs and narrow exits can require different loading work. Send dimensions and access photos; the final scope and price are confirmed before removal starts.
Make a clear pickup plan
A sofa photo should show more than the upholstery
For a sectional, show every section and identify recliners or a sleeper mechanism. Photograph narrow turns, the exit doorway and any stairs. These details help assess lifting and loading; the same number of sofas does not always use the same truck space.
Minimum pickup $250 · Quarter truck $300 · Half truck $450 · Three-quarter truck $650 · Full truck $850. These are the confirmed load tiers; accepted materials, weight and access are reviewed with the complete job before final scope and pricing are confirmed.
See the 13-yard truck-load guide for volume examples and full pricing details.
